Faced with society’s unsettling concerns about COVID-19 (Corona virus), several legal issues emerge when it comes to labor relationships. Although temporarily, there will be some changes in their routine and dynamic.
Firstly, it should be noticed that employers have the duty to collaborate with Public Authority in order to contain the pandemic as well as the legal obligation to provide a safe and healthy work environment to their employees. In that sense, they are responsible for the damage caused to the worker due to the non-compliance of health and hygiene standards at work.
While in accordance with those requirements, the company must follow the recommendations of the Healthy Ministry, such as educate the employees to wash their hands, offer and advise the use of alcohol hand gel and etc. Throughout this public calamity state caused by COVID-19, the company may go through some alterations in its work routine, especially after the Provisory Measure (MP) 927/2020 edition:
